Dr Alison Nichol

GP with special interest in menopause

Alison graduated from the University of Bristol in 1996. In 2000 she gained membership of the Royal College of GPs with distinction and became a GP partner at Phoenix Health Group in Cirencester where she has worked happily ever since. A core value of her GP practice is the holistic care of her patients.

She enjoys all aspects of family medicine and for many years has maintained a special interest in women’s health. She has achieved postgraduate diplomas in obstetrics and gynaecology, sexual and reproductive health and practical contraceptive techniques. Within her general practice she runs a regular gynaecology clinic and spends much of her time guiding women to make informed choices about their health and wellbeing.

Alison’s specialist interest in the menopause has evolved over a number of years and she is passionate about providing women with the best evidence based care they deserve during this important transitional stage of their lives and beyond.

Alison is married with two teenage sons and is happiest with her family and friends in the mountains walking, cycling and skiing
