GP with special interest in menopause

Juliet qualified from Birmingham University Medical School in 1997 and started her General Practice training in North Worcestershire shortly afterwards. She qualified as a GP in 2001 and achieved the MRCGP the same year. She has remained in the North Worcestershire area and is a GP partner in a practice on the Worcestershire/Shropshire border.

Throughout her career in general practice Juliet has had a keen interest in Women’s Health. She has achieved postgraduate diplomas in Family Planning and has also worked for the Sexual Health services locally alongside her GP role. She runs a Family Planning service at her surgery where she performs coil and implant fits. She is a GP trainer and is also a Family Planning trainer, she really enjoys being involved in the education of future GPs. Over the past few years, due to patient demand, she has become very interested in all aspects of the menopause. This interest was furthered by attending one of Dr Newson’s courses on the menopause and HRT. She likes to enable women to make informed decisions about their health, well-being, and menopause care.

Outside of work, Juliet is married to a GP and they have 2 teenage children and a small menagerie of animals. She enjoys exploring the local countryside on foot with her dog. She also enjoys gardening and has a fairly productive vegetable patch and small orchard. She is a keen baker and has recently started to learn the art of sourdough bread making.
