Laura graduated from Sheffield University in 2006 and pursued a career in General Practice. Laura completed her GP training in Doncaster in 2013 (MRCGP), staying on at her training practice as a GP partner. This is where her interest in women’s health started, as there was a need for this knowledge within the practice team. Laura attended hospital clinics to gain extra expertise, trained to fit implants and coils and has specialised training in colposcopy procedures, for women with abnormal smears.
Laura has now moved surgeries to be closer to home in Sheffield, where she lives with her husband and two young boys. She is working towards her ‘Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care’, alongside an excellent trainer at The Jessop Wing hospital in Sheffield. She loves putting her specialist knowledge into practice with her NHS patients, at her inner city practice in Sheffield, and feels a great deal of satisfaction in doing so, seeing the changes to a woman’s life that can be made by managing the menopause properly.
In her spare time Laura is an avid open water swimmer, and has even started to blog about her journey to become an ‘Ice Mile’ swimmer.
