Dr Lindsey Thomas

MBchB, MRCGP, DFSRH

GP with special interest in menopause

Lindsey graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2000 and early on decided to pursue a career in General Practice, becoming a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2004.

She has worked as a GP for the last 16 years, currently in a large inner city practice in Sheffield, where much of her time is spent working in women’s and sexual health, gaining further qualifications in these areas.

Over the past few years, she has developed a specialist interest in the menopause, after witnessing many patients, and friends, struggling during this stage in life. Having undertaken further training she is now a member of the British Menopause Society.

Lindsey is keen to improve the overall experience of this stage of life, in terms of symptoms and long term health benefits. She believes good quality care should be evidence based and holistic, supporting women to make informed choices about HRT alongside an understanding of the importance of lifestyle choices.

Lindsey lives in Sheffield, on the edge of the Peak District, with her husband, two teenage children and a mischievous labradoodle, Tess!  She enjoys keeping active through running, cycling and yoga, and spending time with family and friends.

She is very excited to be joining the Newson Health Team.
