Dr Louise Newson to Host Live Menopause Event at Playbox Theatre
Published: 30th September 2020
On 10th October, Playbox Theatre are hosting an exclusive evening with GP and Menopause Specialist Dr Louise Newson and Lorraine Candy who until recently was The Sunday Times Style Magazine’s editor-in-chief. They will be joined remotely by the renowned health and wellness expert, Liz Earle MBE.
The three inspirational women will be busting myths surrounding the menopause and HRT and talking about common symptoms and health risks associated with the hormone deficiency, and sharing their own experiences, with the aim of helping women successfully navigate this period of change.
The event, which will include wine and canapes, is being held to raise funds jointly for Playbox and a new charity recently launched and advocated by Dr Newson and her fellow speakers, The Menopause Charity.
As every single woman who lives long enough will go through the menopause, and 100% of those will suffer from menopause hormone deficiency resulting in a higher risk of heart disease, osteoporosis and dementia, it is very clear how vitally important The Menopause Charity's work will be; helping support women with evidence-based knowledge, and help educate doctors so no woman is given the wrong advice or left to struggle alone.
Playbox Theatre is delighted to be hosting such an important event at The Dream Factory, and very grateful to Dr Louise Newson and her collaborators for supporting their critical SAVE PLAYBOX campaign, which strives to enable Playbox Theatre to survive the current pandemic, and the huge impact it has had on the company’s operation.
With the help of members, families, friends and associates, the team are determined to ensure that Playbox Theatre rises through these difficult times, and is able to continue to provide unequalled opportunities and training for young people across the performing arts.
