Introducing: Newson Health Research and Education
Published: 15th July 2019
Dr Louise Newson is proud to announce the launch of Newson Health Research and Education, a not-for-profit organisation aiming to improve the quality of menopause education received by healthcare professionals so that women everywhere can get the best possible treatment and care.
Speaking about the organisation, Dr Newson said "There is an overwhelming need for menopause education for healthcare professionals, particularly those in primary care. I set up this organisation so that we can be leaders in both menopause education and also research. We have been working closely with the Royal College of GPs with much of this work and they have been very supportive with our mission to improve menopause care for women."
The company is a "not for profit" organisation with all the profit invested back into the business. The main objectives of Newson Health Research and Education are;
- Provide healthcare professionals, especially those working in primary care, with training and knowledge about treatment options for the menopause including safe prescribing of HRT.
- Through events and media coverage, bring awareness to the wider public of the symptoms, future disease risk and effective treatment of the menopause and peri-menopause.
- Educate businesses through training sessions, so they can adequately support woman at work going through the menopause.
- Carry out research in all areas of the peri-menopause and menopause.
