Newson Health - Out and About!

Published: 12th March 2020

2020 got off to a very busy start for the team at Newson Health. As well as hosting educational events for healthcare professionals and menopausal women all over the UK, our expert doctors have been delivering talks, presentations and webinars to help spread the word about the importance of evidence-based menopause care.

One of Newson Health's directors, Dr Rebecca Lewis recently held a webinar for 135 GPs and pharmacists in South Wales. One of the pharmacists in attendance was responsible for organising the event and reached out to Newson Health for help in furthering their own understanding of menopause treatment, as well as that of their colleagues. The webinar itself was an informative, hour-long session and those who took part were given the facts about current prescribing guidelines and up to date research on the benefits of HRT. Dr Lewis was delighted to offer her services and share her extensive menopause knowledge!

Dr Saher Zakai, GP with special interest in menopause and expert doctor here at Newson Health, has also been out and about and recently visited Housing 21, an organisation based in Birmingham that provides housing and extra care for older people in England. Dr Zakai delivered an enlightening presentation to the Housing 21 team, all about what the menopause actually is and covered crucial topics such as the impact it can have on our bodies and how to manage the symptoms effectively. A lot of myths were busted!

We received some fantastic feedback from the event, with one employee saying: "We’ve just had the session – and it all went really well. Dr Zakai was brilliant! Her talk has moved a lot of ladies. We had several ladies who were afraid or undecided about the benefits of HRT – and Saher has managed to clarify, and answer so many questions."
