Consultant Genito-urinary Medicine and Menopause Specialist
Dr. Caroline Turner holds a medical degree from University College London – Royal Free Campus 1999, is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), possesses the diploma in genitourinary medicine DIPGUM (Distinction), diploma in contraception – DFSRH and LOC IUT & SDI and is a GMC registered Consultant in Genitourinary Medicine. She has undergone specialized training in sexual health, HIV, contraception and menopause management, ensuring she provides the most evidence based, effective and holistic care to her patients.
Throughout her 20 year career in Sexual Health, Caroline has worked in various clinical settings, including large urban integrated sexual health clinics and smaller outreach posts. She is renowned for her expertise in hormone replacement therapy and the management of menopausal symptoms, sexual wellness, sexual dysfunction, contraception including extensive experience in coil and implant insertion and the management of sexually transmitted infections.
Her approach to care is holistic and patient-centred, focusing on the unique needs and concerns of each individual. Caroline believes in creating a supportive and open environment where patients feel comfortable and safe discussing their health needs.
Caroline is a frequent speaker at conferences and has contributed to several publications in the field of sexual health. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Triennial scholarship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow for her work in HIV and malaria prevention.
Outside of her professional life, Caroline enjoys volunteering with women’s health organisations. Her commitment to improving women’s health extends beyond the clinic, as she actively participates in community outreach and education programs. She has 3 teenage children and enjoys lazy walks in the countryside with their dog.
