Dr Emily Knott
MBChB, DRCOG, DFSRH, nMRCGP, Diploma in Lifestyle Medicine.
GP and Menopause Specialist
Emily strongly believes that every woman should feel supported and empowered whilst making informed decisions about their health during their menopause. She believes this stage of life should be celebrated and taken as an opportunity for positive change. This ranges from general health and lifestyle improvements to receiving good evidence-based menopausal care which can lead to improving both symptoms and quality of life for women.
Emily works as an NHS GP and GP appraiser, having graduated from Leeds Medical School in 2002 and completing her GP training in 2009. She has worked in various hospital positions in both the UK and abroad in Perth, Australia.
Over the past 19 years, Emily has developed a real interest for women’s health and lifestyle medicine. She has been awarded a Diploma in Lifestyle Medicine and has gone on to study plant-based nutrition to further broaden her knowledge. Emily has completed her Menopause training with the Confidence in the Menopause course designed by Dr Louise Newson. She is passionate about promoting women’s wellbeing, whilst taking the time to educate patients, looking at lifestyle choices alongside the traditional medical model of treatment.
Emily enjoys a busy life in Norfolk with her husband, three children and lively jackapoo called Rudy. With a passion for the great outdoors, she can often be found in the family campervan, having adventures paddle boarding on the fens or surfing at the coast.
She is delighted to be part of the Newson team.
