GP and Menopause Specialist
Laura initially graduated with a PhD in Chemistry and worked as a research scientist before retraining to become a medical doctor, qualifying in 2010 from University of Southampton. Upon entering the medical profession, she quickly decided that General Practice was her first choice as an area of practice as it allowed her to take a holistic approach to patient care.
She is an experienced GP who has worked in General Practice in the UK and overseas (Middle East). Women’s Health is an area of special interest to her, and she has enjoyed working with women of different cultures to improve their health and wellbeing.
She is excited to be part of the Newson Health team, who she credits as being pioneers leading the way in helping women replace health essential hormones and providing expert guidance in making lifestyle choices – which she believes is key to enjoying life in the best possible health during the years approaching menopause and after menopause.
She is married with 3 daughters and is now enjoying seeing them venture out into the world on their own paths as young adults. She does regular group exercise, which she says she ‘enjoys once she gets there!’ and knows that it helps her to stay strong and make her feel happier. She loves to cook and more importantly to eat tasty food. She has always enjoyed reading and is particularly interested in historical novels at the moment. She loves going for long walks in and around Oxford with her 2 dogs and her husband.
