GP and Menopause Specialist
Lucy graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2009 and stayed in the city to complete her GP training (2014). Early in her career, she worked in genitourinary medicine and in adult psychiatry which helped form a strong foundation for interests in women’s health and mental health. She has undertaken additional postgraduate training to gain accreditation and diplomas in child health, sexual health, and family planning including the fitting of intrauterine and subdermal contraceptive devices.
Lucy moved to London in 2014 and has since worked in and around the London area including in out-of-hours care covering Richmond, Berkshire and Hertfordshire. She has most recently worked for many years as a salaried GP in North West Surrey, providing family planning services and further developing her interest in menopause care as well as in lifestyle medicine. She is a member of the British Menopause Society and the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine, and in 2022 was awarded board certification (IBLM/BSLM) as a lifestyle medicine physician, demonstrating expertise in health promotion and disease prevention.
Lucy recognises the huge impact menopause can have on a woman’s life, especially on mental health, and feels this has historically been overlooked. She feels strongly that menopause is a perfect opportunity to act to prevent future disease. She is passionate about promoting awareness and education of menopause care to both sexes as well as to other healthcare professionals. She feels proud and excited to be formally part of such a forward-thinking team helping to abolish some of the ignorance and misinformation surrounding menopause and HRT.
Lucy is a devoted mum to two young boys who are her absolute world. She loves arts and crafts, as well as cooking for and spending quality time with her friends and family.
