Dr Rachel Jakeman

GP and Menopause Specialist

Since qualifying as a GP from Newcastle Medical School in 1994, women’s health has always been at the forefront of Rachel’s specialist interests. Throughout her 20-year GP career Rachel has earned diplomas from both the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG) and the faculty of Family Planning and Sexual Health (DFFP with competence in fitting contraceptive implants). She also provides training and guidance to her fellow GPs, GP trainees and primary care colleagues.

Rachel is extremely passionate about helping and empowering women to thrive throughout the menopause. She offers a holistic, patient centred approach to treatment, focusing not only on the biological aspects of menopause, but also lifestyle medicine, nutrition, physical and mental health.

When she’s not helping women optimise their health and wellbeing, Rachel can be found in The Cotswold countryside where she lives with her husband, three children and two dogs. She enjoys Pilates, spending time on her allotment and keeping bees.
