GP and Menopause Specialist
Ruth qualified as a GP after passing the MRCGP with distinction in 2001. She works as a portfolio GP with a particular interest in women’s health, fitness, and nutrition. She has completed the British Menopause Society Principles and Practice of Menopause Care course and has also completed Dr Newson’s Confidence in Menopause training.
She has an interest in fitness and nutrition and how these impact on health and subsequently qualified as a personal trainer in 2015. She then went on to complete a yearlong nutritional qualification with Macnutrition University. She feels very passionately that individualised, evidenced based menopause care can be really life changing.
She also works in OOH GP care, is a GP Appraiser and also teaches the medical students at the University. She has a special interest in ADHD in adults and children.
She lives in Glasgow with her 2 teenage children and Labrador puppy. She enjoys fitness, good food, socialising and getting outdoors.
