GP and Menopause Specialist
Shalini graduated from Manchester Medical School in 1996 and completed her GP training in 2001 when she attained a Distinction in the MRCGP. She took the DRCOG in 2000 as she has a long held interest in Women’s health.
Shalini works as a GP in Manchester and does Gynaecology clinics in a community hospital and is involved in Gynaecology referral management. Through each of these roles she has encountered patients with menopausal symptoms and she is keenly aware that menopause affects each woman in different and unique ways.
With increasing life expectancy, many women will be post-menopausal for almost half of their lives, so it is vital that they are supported to have an excellent quality of life during the menopausal and post-menopausal years.
As a GP Shalini is involved in adding years to patient’s lives, but through this dedicated clinic she aims to add life to women’s years by creating bespoke ‘menopause management plans’ which improve and enhance women’s lives.
She is keen to help women from all backgrounds but can also offer consultations in Hindi and Urdu for women who may otherwise not have easy access to advice at this time of change.
Away from work, Shalini enjoys travelling, entertaining, keeping fit and loves quizzes!
