Newson Clinic offers state of the art DEXA bone density and DEXA body composition scans at our Stratford-upon-Avon clinic which can be useful to assess your bones, muscle and fat.
A DEXA (Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry) scan is a bone density test that uses low-dose X-rays to measure bone strength and density, helping diagnose osteoporosis and assess fracture risk.
A DEXA scan is used to assess bone health by using a very low dose of radiation, so the associated radiation risks are very low. However, it cannot provide detailed anatomical images as this would require a much higher dose.
It's a safe, quick, and painless procedure that can take 10-20 minutes.
We are unable to offer a DEXA bone density scan or body composition scan to anyone who is not a registered Newson Clinic patient.
