Dr Heather Pope
MBChB BSc(Hons) MRCGP
GP and Menopause Specialist
Heather graduated from Leeds School of Medicine in 2008, and completed her GP training in the Yorkshire area, becoming a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2013. She started work with a local GP surgery in North Yorkshire, where she has remained for the last 8 years. It was here that she developed a keen interest in Women’s Health, became a trained contraceptive coil fitter, and where her passion for quality menopause care was ignited.
She has pursued this special interest in Menopause Care, developing experience and building knowledge from supporting her practice patients (and her mother) in starting HRT for symptoms of the menopause, as well as trialling it herself following research into menstrual and perimenopausal migraines.
Heather is passionate about improving the health and quality of life of perimenopausal and menopausal women. She is excited to be part of the team at Newson Health and to be able to help empower and guide clients through their menopause journey.
In her spare time, Heather enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two small children, voraciously reading in between her local book group meetings, and running with her dog to keep fit.
