Dr Rebecca Lewis

MBBS FRCA DRCOG MRCGP

GP and Menopause Specialist

Rebecca qualified from Guy’s Medical School and initially pursued a career in Anaesthetics gaining FRCA in 1996.

She then changed speciality to General Practice (MRCGP 2000). During her time in General Practice, she became interested in the menopause and how dramatically it can affect all aspects of women’s health and their quality of life.

She found this the most rewarding area of medicine to be involved in, as once women are correctly diagnosed, their symptoms managed and treated effectively, their lives can be transformed, and needless suffering stopped.

As a result, she is now passionate about improving education and knowledge about the menopause, not only within medicine but in the workplace and society as a whole. Her aim is to make the menopause a positive experience not one hampered by debilitating symptoms, allowing women to get on and enjoy healthy, active lives for many years ahead.

She now works solely within the menopause speciality and dedicates her time to seeing patients, lecturing and writing articles which aim to empower women with evidence-based knowledge so that they can make informed decisions about managing their menopause.

She works closely with Dr Louise Newson and helped set up the Newson Health Group in 2018 where she works as a director. She is also a director of the not-for-profit company Newson Health Research and Education Ltd and the free balance app.

Rebecca is married with two teenage children and when not being a taxi service for them, loves all sorts of exercise, especially running and ski-ing.
