Dr Heather Pope graduated from Leeds School of Medicine in 2008 and completed her GP training in Yorkshire, becoming a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2013. She has worked as a GP for over a decade, developing a strong interest in women’s health and training as a contraceptive coil fitter. Frustrated by the lack of menopause education in medical training and the outdated concerns around HRT, she pursued further study, completing the Menopause Care Special Skills Module with the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare and The Confidence in the Menopause Course. Heather is passionate about providing high-quality, evidence-based menopause care, working closely with her patients to create tailored management plans that help them regain their well-being. Heather also has an interest in Lifestyle and Functional Medicine, having completed the Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice module via the IFM.

Outside of work, she enjoys functional fitness and Olympic weightlifting, spending time in nature and reading historical fiction and fantasy. She has two primary school-aged children and a beagle.

External work:

Heather is involved in educational talks in her local area to raise awareness of perimenopause and menopause.
