Confidence in Menopause course
While working in general practice, Julia became aware of the vast numbers of women who were not receiving adequate care or advice about the changes that occur during their reproductive lives, then during perimenopause and menopause. This was causing women’s lives to be much more difficult on so many levels, due to the vast variety of physical and psychological issues that hormone changes can cause.
Julia’s ambition is to empower women to make the right choices for themselves to live full, healthy and meaningful lives. Julia was inspired by Dr Louise Newson and her knowledge and drive to change out of date ideas about women’s health and menopause. She feels women should be empowered to make informed choices without bias about their own lives and bodies, through education and evidenced based care.
Julia is married and has three grown-up children and two grown-up stepchildren. Spending time with her husband and all the children is what makes her happiest, as they mature, into thriving young adults living their own dreams. She is a keen sportswoman including cycling, circuits classes, body combat, weights, wild swimming or any water activity! She enjoys exploring different countries and gardening, as well as her passion for her work.
