Nurse and Menopause Specialist
Amanda began her Nursing career in Bangor, North Wales in 1993 and qualified as an RGN in 1996. Having worked in various hospital settings, Amanda soon realised she wanted to work in women’s health. Amanda trained as a midwife and qualified in 1998. She spent many happy years in maternity caring for women and their babies. Following completion of the Family Planning qualification, Amanda also specialised in contraceptive services. Initially, alongside Midwifery, Amanda also secured a post as a Practice Nurse in 2001. The variety of the role led to further accredited training in general practice nursing, women’s health, Diabetes, Asthma, Paediatrics, Minor illness and Minor injuries. In 2006, Amanda began training as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner alongside her role in Primary Care. Amanda later completed a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice at Bangor university, North Wales.
Amanda has always been passionate about women’s health, ensuring women are given the correct information to make an informed choice. Amanda has completed various women’s health training as well as the menopause course delivered by Dr Louise Newson. Amanda finds menopause care rewarding and she is proud to work with the Newson Health team and provide women with the care they deserve.
Amanda enjoys walking her dogs, gardening and spending time with friends, family and relaxing in the family beach hut.
