GP and Menopause Specialist
Madeleine qualified from Norwich Medical School in 2007. She worked in hospital medicine and qualified with MRCP in 2011 before completing the MRCGP in 2014. She has been a GP in the East of England, providing support and expertise in women’s health, since that time, and is also a trainer for the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare.
She is the Curriculum Integration Lead for Cambridge University Clinical School, working to ensure that future doctors are being provided with the tools they need to work within the healthcare system. Whilst developing a seminar entitled ‘Management of the Menopause’ for the Year 5 students in 2019, she contacted Louise Newson for some advice, and as a result now spends a significant amount of time talking about, thinking about, and teaching about the perimenopause & menopause. She is also a Clinical Director of Studies for Murray Edwards College, supporting students as they learn in different environments.
Madeleine has joined Newson Health to be part of a community who are equally passionate about empowering people to understand and make decisions about their own health. She is looking forward to stretching her own knowledge base and collaborating with the NH Menopause Society to create a module on the perimenopause & menopause that will be available for all undergraduate allied health professionals.
Madeleine loves running outside, books & podcasts, cooking for people, and writing never ending to-do lists. She subscribes to the Brené Brown quote “I am not here to be right. I am here to get it right”.
