Dr Tamie Downes

Tamie (short for Tamarisk – her botanical parents named her after a tree!) qualified in 1995 at St Georges Hospital Medical School, London. She did her GP training in Oxford and has been a GP for over 20 years. She has practiced in many beautiful parts of England including Cornwall, York and now back to Oxford.

Tamie has a special interest in women’s health and education and has been a GP trainer and medical student tutor. More recently she has developed a special interest in empowering women to manage their menopause in an evidence-based and holistic way.

Tamie loves spending time with her crazy family (husband and two daughters) and starts most days with a 5 km run with Wilbur, her fluffy white cavapoo.
