BSc(Hons) PgDip
Physician Associate with an interest in menopause
Georgie studied biomedical science at The University of Sheffield and graduated in 2013 before completing her PgDip in Physician Associate Studies at Sheffield Hallam University in 2018. She has worked predominantly in primary care over the last few years with some time spent working in hospital medicine. Georgie has thoroughly enjoyed all of her training but has been most drawn to primary care as she is able to work closely with her patients over time, addressing their physical & mental health needs.
There are many inequalities faced by women such as financial, educational and health inequalities and Georgie feels very passionately about closing these divides. She practices holistically as she feels too often peoples symptoms are dismissed and incorrectly treated when patients aren’t listened to wholly. By ensuring women are empowered to make the right decisions for them through listening to individual stories and providing the correct education needed, Georgie believes we, as clinicians, can help women live happier, more fulfilling lives and narrow these gaps.
Georgie is just starting her diploma of sexual and reproductive health (FSRH) and is excited to learn more in order to better help her patients. As well as women’s health, she has an interest in mental health and education, having experience in medical writing and writing for exams.
In her spare time, Georgie enjoys walking, cooking and eating lovely food, catching up with friends and family, spending time with her boyfriend and traveling whenever possible.
