Dr Katie Benge

Katie graduated from the University of Warwick for the first time in 1999 where she studied Virology. She then worked for several years for the pharmaceutical company GSK before returning to Warwick University to study medicine in 2008. She initially trained as a pathologist but transferred speciality to general practice where she felt her skills were put to much better use.

She completed her GP training in South Warwickshire and is now practicing in Stratford-upon-Avon as a GP.

Katie’s interest in menopause was inspired through her increasing work with HRT in her daily practice and through working alongside Dr Clair Crockett, an esteemed colleague who also works at Newson Health. She would like to be actively involved in the ongoing research into HRT and its longer-term benefits.

Katie is married with two young children, which she finds wonderful but exhausting. She loves sport and likes to stay active through walking her springer spaniel and playing football and squash with her children. She enjoys cooking and is currently trying to balance her love of fine dining with healthy eating – not an easy task!
