Nurse and Menopause Specialist

Sian qualified as an RGN in 1986 and worked as a Practice Nurse between the UK and Germany as her husband was in the Armed Forces until 1997.   Her main areas of interest were Women’s Health, diabetes, asthma and epilepsy. After settling back in Wales, she continued to work as a Practice Nurse then as an Epilepsy Specialist Nurse for 4 years before going on to complete a Bsc in Professional Practice in 2009. In 2015 Sian achieved her masters in Advanced Clinical Practice and Independent Prescribing.

Her role as an ANP (Advanced Nurse Practitioner) gave her more autonomy and she soon came to realise there was a need for more support, education and management for women during their perimenopause and menopause.

Having completed a Foundation in Menopause study day and the Confidence in Menopause course, Sian set up a menopause clinic once a week at her practice which has grown over the last couple of years.

Having experienced how much the symptoms of the menopause can affect your personal and working life, she feels it is vitally important women are given support and evidenced based knowledge so they can make informed choices regarding their menopause and to regain their health, confidence and wellbeing.

Sian is married with two grown up daughters. Her hobbies include running, yoga, walking in the lovely Welsh countryside, family time and a good book.
